Stewardship of God’s Resources

by Scott Davis

I am thankful for all that God has done at Central Manor in 2021.

Recently I have been thinking about our stewardship of money, time, and space. All three can be used like currency. Money and time are easily understood in this context, but space can also be wasted or invested. The space in our church (land, buildings, rooms, etc.) needs to be used to carry out God’s mission. Over the past year money, time, and space have been a big part of our stewardship. We have carefully and prayerfully considered how to invest them for Jesus.

I believe God is pleased with what has been accomplished. Over the past year we invested them to carry out God’s mission to make more and better disciples. We started the year searching for a new Pastor of Connections and Operations. Praise God for bringing Steve and Barb Scoffone to us. They are truly a gift. What a delight. From Life Groups to Women’s Ministry, the money, time, and space invested was used for growth in our people.

We continued this year with some changes to our building. Adding sound, video, and staging to the gym has made it more usable. Adding sound, video, carpet, seating, and lighting to the sanctuary has increased the adaptability of that space by increasing the navigation, and the ability to move chairs. It has been a great adventure. Thanks for joining in. Time is short and our resources are limited. Let’s continue to use them to glorify God. “We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.” – John 9:4

I look forward to celebrating Christmas with you in our renewed sanctuary.
