Catechism Question 3:
How many persons are there in God?
There are three persons in the one true and living God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. They are the same in substance, equal in power and glory.

1. The Bible is the Word from God – inspiration of the Bible God breathed)
Definition: “A term referring to the fact that the words of Scripture are spoken by God. Because of the weak sense of this word in ordinary usage, this text prefers the term “God-breathed” to indicate that the words of Scripture are spoken by God.” – Grudem’s Systematic Theology
2. The Bible is True
A. It is without error – inerrancy
Definition: “The idea that Scripture in the original manuscripts does not affirm anything that is contrary to fact.” – Grudem
B. It will not fail – infallibility
Definition: “The idea that Scripture is not able to lead us astray in
matters of faith and practice.. – Grudem (See also Psalm 19:7, Heb 4.12)
3. The Bible is sufficient for all matters of faith & living – sufficiency
Definition: “The idea that Scripture contained all the words of God he intended his people to have at each stage of redemptive history, and that it now contains all the words of God we need for salvation, for trusting him perfectly, and for obeying him perfectly.” – Grudem
4. The Bible carries the Authority of God – authority
Definition: “The idea that all the words in Scripture are God’s words in such a way that to disbelieve or disobey any word of Scripture is to disbelieve or disobey God.” – Grudem
